BOARD MEETING: The BME Transplant Network (BMETN) Board meeting was held on Monday 6th August 2007. Members agreed to go through the Articles and Memorandum of Association and send comments to Graciano by Friday 10th August 2007. METRAN AWARDED £2,000 BY COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS: METRAN was awarded £2,000 by the Community Champions Fund to develop the web site and the logo. Speaking after the award ceremony, Graciano Masauso said, 'I am delighted that the website will be developed by professionals now. NHS Organ Donor Register

Organ donation is a precious gift that you can give to save life. In UK, by the end of March 2006, 6,700 patients were listed as actively waiting for a transplant. (UK Transplant). Each year more than 1,595 patients from Black and Minority Ethnic communities (20%) are on the waiting list, yet only less than 2% are on the NHS Donor Donor Register. more >>
